The Delta AS228P-A combines PLC processing, digital I/O and industrial communication functions in a compact controller designed for automated machinery and control systems. Its 16 digital inputs can accept 24 VDC signals from sensors, switches and other field devices, while the 12 PNP transistor outputs provide sourcing control for compatible DC loads. This built-in I/O configuration makes the controller suitable for machines requiring a relatively high number of discrete control points without immediately adding separate I/O modules.
The controller is designed for applications that require both reliable PLC processing and flexible industrial networking. It provides Ethernet, USB and two RS-485 interfaces, with support for protocols including Modbus, Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP; CANopen is also supported. The AS228P-A can be expanded by up to 32 modules, allowing additional digital I/O, analog modules and other compatible expansion functions to be incorporated as system requirements grow.
With its 16DI/12DO configuration, PNP transistor outputs, high-speed processing and expandable architecture, the AS228P-A can be applied to packaging machinery, electronics manufacturing equipment, labeling machines, textile machinery, material-handling systems and other automated production equipment. Its high-speed I/O capabilities also make it suitable for applications involving pulse-based control and machine sequencing. When selecting this PLC for replacement or new-system applications, the PNP output configuration, communication requirements, I/O capacity and expansion architecture should be matched with the overall control-system design.
